Summarize

Art-Law Centre, UNIDROIT and Foundation Gandur pour l'art jointly organize a conference “What prospects for “orphan works” ? Reflections on cultural goods with no provenance” to take place online on 4-5 February 2021.

According to Wikipedia, an orphan work is a copyright-protected work for which rightsholders are positively indeterminate or uncontactable (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orphan_work). However the term is often used broader to cover the cultural goods without any provenance. A range of world-level experts will talk reflect on the status, provenance research and authenticity issues of the orphan works.
