2019.gada 21.janvārī Latvija ir izpildījusi UNESCO 1970.gada Konvencijas par kultūras priekšmetu nelikumīgas ievešanas, izvešanas un īpašumtiesību maiņas aizliegšanu un novēršanu noteikumus un deponējusi pievienošanās instrumentu Apvienoto Nāciju Izglītības, zinātnes un kultūras organizācijas ģenerāldirektoram. Saskaņā ar konvencijas 21.pantu, Konvencija stājas spēkā pēc tam, kad pagājuši trīs mēneši pēc ratifikācijas, tas ir 2019.gada 21.aprīlī.
Pēc UNESCO 1970.gada Konvencijas ratifikācijas, 2019.gada 8.februārī Latvija ir arī izpildījusi UNIROIT 1995.gada Konvencijas par zagtajiem vai nelikumīgi izvestajiem kultūras priekšmetiem noteikumus un deponējusi pievienošanās instrumentu Itālijas valdībā, kas ir šīs Konvencijas depozitārijs. Saskaņā ar Konvencijas 12.pantu, Konvencija stājas spēkā sestā mēneša pirmajā dienā pēc datuma, kurā ir deponēts tās ratifikācijas dokuments, tas ir 2019.gada 1.augustā.
