Pagājušajā nedēļā (no 24. līdz 26. oktobrim) Eiropas Padome organizēja konferenci par Konvencijas par nodarījumiem, kas saistīti ar kultūras vērtībām (2017. gada Nikosijas konvencija), popularizēšanu. Konferences galvenais mērķis bija palielināt izpratni un veicināt kopīgus centienus cīņā pret nodarījumiem, kas saistīti ar kultūras priekšmetiem.
Konvencijas pieņemšanas vieta Nicosija zem viena jumta uzņēma valdību un pilsoniskās sabiedrības delegātus, kā arī Eiropas Savienības, UNESCO, UNIDROIT, Eiropas arheologu asociācijas, NVO un citu ieinteresēto personu pārstāvjus.
