2019.gada 15.aprīlī Eiropas Savienības Padome ir apstiprinājusi pretrunīgi vērtētu jaunu Autortiesību direktīvu. Saskaņā ar oficiālo paziņojumu, pieņemtie "autortiesību noteikumi atbilst digitālajam laikmetam. Eiropā tagad būs skaidri noteikumi, kas garantēs taisnīgu atlīdzību radītājiem, noteiktas lietotāju tiesības un platformu atbildību". Dalībvalstīm būs divi gadi, lai iestrādātu Direktīvas noteikumus savos nacionālajos tiesību aktos. Laika atskaite sākas!
